Hi! We are so glad you are here. Nicholson's Peerless Transparent Watercolors ("Peerless" for short) is actually a small family business, and your support means the world!

We are Cassie and Dalton - and our goal is to get vibrant, portable watercolors in the hands of all amazing creatives...like you! We have a super tight-knit team working hard every day to provide you with handmade, quality paints. 

We stepped into our roles in 2019 when we were passed the torch by Cassie's aunt. The company itself was founded in 1885 (you read that right - over 130 years ago) by a dashing chemist named Chaz Nicholson.

He had stumbled on a new, better, more fun way to colorize black and white photographs and had to share it with the world.

Turns out watercolor artists all around the world liked these new paints almost better than the photographers did!

And just like that Nicholson's Peerless Transparent Watercolors was born.

Although our paints are still used by a few museums and college level traditional photography programs to tint and restore photographs, our paints are also very much geared to watercolor artists and urban sketchers.

We have 2 awesome girls and 3 dogs that love to follow the girls around and act as a team of organic rumbas - picking up every spare piece of food they drop (they eat pretty good.) Cassie has a love of art, jewelry making, interior design and Dalton is a fantastic musician and is incredibly skilled at writing and retaining every miscellaneous fact about history, health, science...he's basically an encyclopedia ;) Our multi-passionate selves love so many aspects of entrepreneurship and creative endeavors!
